DIVING TRIP IN THE KINGDOM OF MYTHOLOGY


Countries of southern Europe bathed by the Mediterranean water, Greece is a country made up of over 9,000 islands and 200 of them are inhabited today. Greece has a lot to offer to those who think outside the box and even more to scuba divers. Greece will fascinate archeology enthusiasts who'll walk in the footsteps of history and Greek mythology, the gastronomes who'll delited by the delicious Mediterranean cuisine, hikers who'll go browse through the hilly landscapes of the country (80% of the territory are mountains ) and tourists looking for calm, chilled moment and warm encounters.


Greek seabed are among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, many dive centers have been opened in recent years giving the opportunity to go diving on the islands of Mykonos, Lesbos, Kythnos, Antiparos or Crete. You can choose between beautifull reefs, magnificent caves, stunning wrecks (like the MV Avantis III) or archaeological dive sites. You must know that access to archaelogical dive spots are regulated very strictly to protect historical treasures.


WHEN TO GO ? BEST PERIOD


Best months to dive in Greece are setpember and october. There is four reasons for this : water is warm, sun is not too strong, less tourist and prices are lower than during the high season.


SCUBA DIVING CONDITIONS


Visibility: You will enjoy a good visibility, between 15 and 35 meters depending on the dive spots.
Current: There is not so much current in Greece. Diving is easy is the Meditteranean sea.
Difficulties: Accessible to every divers, Greece is an ideal place for diving holidays.
Water temperature will vary between 15°C in winter and 26°C in summer (july to september).


WHAT TO SEE DIVING AND SNORKELING?


The seabed in Greece are among the richest in biodiversity. You gonna observe all the fish species of the Mediterranean (red mullet, sea bass, sea bream, sea bream, toothed, lionfish, groupers, moray eels, barracudas) crustaceans (crabs, lobsters, shrimp) or cephalopods ( octopuses, cuttlefish). Finally, if you are lucky enought, you might spot pelagic marine species such as the graceful eagle ray, small sharks, turtly or marine mammals such as seals.
