Best dives in Zanzibar
Dive Point Zanzibar is a small and friendly PADI dive center situated on the north-east coast of Zanzibar, in Matemwe, near Muyuni Beach, just opposite the famous Mnemba Atoll – the main diving spot on Zanzibar. We offer daily diving and snorkeling trips to Mnemba and north-east coast reefs, try dives for those willing to discover scuba diving, as well as a wide range of PADI diving courses.
Team
We put together a great team in order to provide safe, professional and fun experience for our guests. The managers and instructors – Simon and Malou very professional and experienced divers who make sure that everything runs as smooth as possible, our Divemaster – Bakari very enthusiastic and experienced diver, Captains – Juma and Butu both with very good knowledge of the Ocean, snorkeling guide – Salum and assistants are looking forward to show the wonders of the Indian Ocean.
Dive center
Our dive center was designed to be a divers friendly place. There is lots of space, places to seat, relax and fill log books, own swimming pool for the courses, spacious classroom with flat screen TV and important two big toilets.
Boats
We use three dive boats: two 9 meter wooden diving dhows called “Pole Pole” “slowly slowly” in Swahili and “Kati Kati”” “in between” in Swahili, not very fast but comfortable, used more for closer dive sites, and an 8 meter Superduck called “Pili Pili” “spicy spicy” in Swahili, with two 85 hp Yamaha engines which enables us to travel to further reefs. The boats are equipped with Oxygen and First Aid kits.
Equipment
Our regulators and BCDs are from SCUBAPRO. We have also 5 mm, long and short REEF wet suites in variety of sizes. The tanks are 10 and 12 l steel SCUBAPRO, both DIN and INT. We take great care of our equipment, it is regularly checked and serviced by a certified technicians.
Air
We fill our tanks with a Bauer compressor also bought brand new in 2013. Thanks to regular service and SECURUS system that has been installed we have the Bauer Pure Air Station Certificate. We like to breathe with fresh air.
