This dive spot is considered as one of the best spots of Nusa Penida, and more generally of Bali. Crystal Bay is THE spot you have to be in to observe the giant Mola Mola. From August to October, try to go to Crystal Bay to have the chance to see the this 2-3 meters wingspan fish.This specimen looks prehistoric. It follows cold currents to feed on microscopic algae, and is often seen at depths of 30 meters. Numerous common stingrays and marbled rays also live there on the sandy bottoms.
Swimming with Manta rays is an absolutely amazing experience, and is something which can be achieved year round at Manta Point. This cleaning station for large pelagic attracts schools of 3-5 meters long manta rays that stay around to be washed by 'washing fish' living at the site.. Furthemore the dive is quite easy since the maximum depth is 25 meters. The amazing choregraphy of rays, forming cycles around divers is a must-see for those who want to dive with large pelagics.
The dive is surely the best drift dive you could ever have in Nusa Lembogan. The current can be very strong and will give you a strong shot of adrenaline! This dive site is only made for experienced divers who really have a good experience on drift dives. You will swim along a reef at an average depth of 20 meters during which you will be able to see sharks, huge rays and also if you're lucky the famous Mola Mola.
The legendary wreck of Bali is located in Tulamben (east part of the island). This wreck is considered as one of the best wrecks of the world. Entering the water can be dangerous for some people because of slippery pebbles and waves hitting there. But once this obstacles passed, you have an appointment with the exploded structure of the boat and a great variety of fish, from Napoleon to pygmy seahorses ... The best for this site lovers is to dive there at sunrise to see the humpback parrotfish swimming bench above the wreck. Every year however, the wreck gradually falls into pieces, and we can now wonder if the wreck will still be there in a few years.
This dive is pretty sportive but really great. It may be the spot where corals are the most beautiful and colorful. The high variety of colours and shapes gives the place a magical atmosphere. Nevertheless, this dive is not accessible to to everyone because of the strong intensity of the ascendant and descendant currents. It is important to know how to swim close to the bottoms to progress underwater. Don't hesitate to ask for information about the region of Amed.
This dive spot is the best dive site around Candidasa. The canyon is not an easy dive spot and is saved for advanced divers. Indeed, there again, currents can be very strong and descending requiring you to stay close to the walls. The dive spot is wonderful thanks to its canyon which looks like a Roman amphitheater and the numerous fish that took this place as residence. With good luck, it is also possible to observe silvertip sharks, Napoleon sharks and turtles. From August to October, Mola Mola prowls in these waters, so do not forget to look in the blue part.
If you're an easy shooter when using a camera... if you do love macro... well, this spot is made for you. On a black sandy surface, a impressive fauna made of kings of camouflage and small species is waiting for you: antennarius, seahorses, multicolored shrimps and sometimes even mimic octopus. So keep your eyes open!!!
Another important site for macro in Bali is Secret Bay. Near Gilimanuk, this dive spot is wolrdwide known for its biodiversity.
