Turkey Beach

Type :Drop-off, Drift Dive

Difficulty :From PADI open water level

The Turkey Beach dive site is certainly one of the best known wakatobi dive sites. In fact, when you want to dive without guide at the Wakatobi Resort Luxury Diving Resort the ship drops you off at this dive site. You then drift quietly to join the pontoon and you can even continue diving on the housereef in front of the jetty of the hotel.

The spot takes its name from the fact that locals did not manage to pronounce correctly the word Turtle, and over time, the name has evolved in Turkey. Logic! The spot is known for its turtles that come to lay their eggs during the mating season. The turtles particularly appreciate the site because it is located right next to a large white sand beach which is perfect for laying in peace. Suckers Raymoras often follow the impressive turtles. Perfect for a snorkeling trip just in front of the resort.

Lorenzo’s Delight

Type :
Drop-off

Difficulty :
From PADI open water level

Lorenzo’s Delight is the favorite spot of Lorenzo, who created, with his brother, the Wakatobi Diving Resort. He discovered it while being dragged by a rope at the back of a boat about fifty years ago and Lorenzo directly fell in love with the place. This beautiful spot, which is between 5 and 35 meters deep is completely covered with corals with a multitude of small cavities and overhangs to explore. The current can be medium to strong but you can easily hide from it, taking the time to search the small caves in search of a mini shrimp or a nudibranch. Coral life is extraordinary, probably the richest in the region. You will find nudibranchs, sweepers, soldiers fish, but also tuna, angelfish and groupers.
